Loading a game after using the deactivate DLC button causes crash

Shadow Striker
  • Branch: Preview Branch Version: Windows Pending

I wanted to try the new deactivate DLC button, so I pressed it and let my game restart. After it restarts I go to load a game and it crashes. I checked steam properties and it still had the DLC checked, so I uncheck it and it still crashes. I check my save files and they have all been moved to retired colonies. Luckily, the JSON files are still there, so if I can get it to stop crashing I should hopefully have the saves still. Here is the crash information:

Hi, the log file is no longer called output_log.txt unfortunately. It's called "Player.log" in the same folder. Would you mind uploading that and I can take a look!

Could you try: right clicking the game in steam, going to Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Local Files?

If that doesn't work, could you try disabling all mods, restarting the game, and letting me know if it works?

Steam was able to validate all files. All mods were disabled and it still crashed. I examined the crash log and it was still the same.

I apologize, I had misread the original post. Is it a particular save that's crashing or all save files?

Could you upload the save file you've been trying? (Found either in Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\save_files or cloud_save_files)

It crashes when I press the load button, before getting to a load save screen. I have also tried going onto the colony summary screen and upon clicking any save it will also crash. This is the save I would try to click on the colony summary screen.

Sorry, the .json is not a save file, the saves are either in the save_files folder or the cloud_save_files folder, with a .sav extention.

  • Thanks 1
