Item on conveyor rail not exchanging heat

I have a cooler for an aluminum volcano. After running it overnight, it stalled. I found that two (!) aluminum parcels on conveyor rail stay at 500C while surrounded by 25C water. The issue persists on save & reload. Something is clearly causing an invalid state in the simulation engine here.

Steps to Reproduce

Load save. Load is centered on the issue. Look at aluminum on conveyor rail under the thermo-sensor and left of it.

User Feedback

Is the mass of the bits of aluminium on the rail less than 1 gram? Because if so, that's by design, mass under 1g doesn't undergo thermal transfer (probably to avoid issues with rounding tiny amounts of heat energy, I'd assume.) Unfortunately, that means that using a conveyor temp sensor can run into this kind of issue.

It's a pain, but generally, just using a shutoff with a timer or measuring the steam temperature to control the release of metal from the steam chamber is more effective.

I am aware. These are 14.9kg and 20kg packets in about 500kg of water each.
