I want to say that I've been playing ONI for a year now (2000 hours) and, in my opinion, the polymer press is not behaving as it should. While pumping out the available petrolium in the oil biome (~250C) to get a quick first plastic, I found that when I pumped it into the new cold polymer press (~25C), it often turned into naphtha. Petrolium's temperature is 220-250C. At ~100C ambient press temperature, the plastic block stops coming out of the press altogether. The steel polymer press works without overheating, but apparently the plastic automatically turns into naphtha. However, I did not notice the problem immediately and, unfortunately, I have very little petrolium left at my disposal to reproduce the bug reliably. I tried my best, look at the screenshots.

This place was used by me as a temporary place. It was just a vacuum hydrosealed room where the press stood and converted petrolium into plastic. Note that the temperature of the room and the naphtha was only 105 degrees with the melting point of the plastic just above 150 degrees. Unfortunately, I discovered this problem when it was too late. But the naphtha was clearly there when the room temperature had not yet reached the 100 degree mark. It is worth noting that I managed to get some plastic. I stopped the process when I discovered that the plastic block was not coming out of the press while the press was still running.

This is the test press in which I pumped my remaining petrolium. As you can see, the ambient temperature is definitely very low here. Really hot was only petrolium, which I pumped into the press through insulated pipes (219C, look at the screen below, alas, this is the last portion of petrolium from the oil biome). Nevertheless, I managed to reproduce the bug again. There was enough petrolium for 1 block of plastic, which turned into 1500g of naphtha when it came out, or it turned into naphtha still inside the press when it weighed 1500g, I didn't understand exactly how this mechanic works. When forcibly removing the plastic in the middle of the production process (more precisely, when the petrolium ran out), the plastic did not turn into naphtha and remained quite cold both in the press and outside of it.

I've never encountered anything like this in a year of playing, although I always get plastic from a polymer press and have used the press in various conditions, including as a quick way to get plastic at the start of the game without using cooling. Never cared for the temperature of the petrolium being fed, only the cooling of the press itself and it has always done the job. In my opinion, the temperature of the petrolium is transferred to the finished plastic, this explains its melting.
I apologize if the press now works that way intentionally and I didn't read a certain patchnotes where it was written. Also, I won't argue that I may have overlooked a particular feature and the problem is me. Sorry for the not too demonstrative bug report, unfortunately I got an oil biome hot enough to create a lot of problems at this stage of the game (I can't cool it down yet and can't generate more petrolium for tests), but not hot enough to have a lot of petrolium there.
Thanks for your attention.
1. Put the polymer press under normal conditions.
2. Feed hot petrolium to it through insulated pipes (in my case, 220-250 degrees).
3. Make a few tests, since the plastic is apparently still periodically produced by the press and the first time you can not notice the bug.
