Deconstructing Rockets Crash the Game

LeoZambotto
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Linux Pending

I tried to deconstruct a rocket, apparently dupes deconstructed the engine first, now the nosecone is stuck, even if I deconstruct the rocket platform, and there is no way to build back the engine. When I tried to deconstruct the nosecone, both with or without the rocket platform below it, the game crashed.

Steps to Reproduce

Tell dupes to deconstruct a rocket

User Feedback

I had a similar bug. I had to assign a pilot and then replace the module and then it became deconstruct able without crashes.

What do you mean assign a pilot? Is the pilot supposed to be on auto (stand by) mode and inside the solo spacefaring nose cone? For me, if even a tiny bit of gas or liquid is left inside the nose cone, all deconstruct attempts crashes the game.

Assigning a pilot I mean - selecting a pilot in the assign crew menu. He\she does not necessary need to be out or inside the ship to reconstruct the module. When I made the first successful deconstruction (after a dozen of crashes), it works for me anytime no matter what is inside - gas, liquid, buildings, storage bins with materials. Nothing crashes the game and all materials fall down even gases packed in bottles.

I had a similar bug. Tried the steps mentioned by KonfigSys without success. Already had a pilot assigned and some structures, objects, and oxygen in the pilot nose cone. Deconstructing the nose cone crashed the game. Changing the nose cone crashed the game. Removing all other rocket parts, including the platform, and then deconstructing the nose cone crashed the game. Unassigning the pilot then deconstructing crashed the game. Re-assigning to a different pilot and then deconstructing crashed the game.

What worked for me was some combination of deconstructing things inside, sweeping it out of the pilot nose cone and then deconstructing the nose cone. I didn't have to evacuate the oxygen inside.
