Wrangled critters falling off edge into solid tile below

I have been playing on Ceres and ranching floxes for a long time now.  I have kept a little edge on the far side of a door outside my main flox ranch for some time to move eggs to to hatch.  Once in a while when I try to wrangle and relocate one, I come back to find it appears to have fallen off of the edge of the platform and embedded itself into a solid tile below and become trapped and unreachable.  See screenshot for the latest example.
