Wild Shine Bugs die once enclosed in a room

Ive been experiencing shine bugs dying once i've 'trapped' them in a room to grow blossom berries; I'll wall and door off every area between where I find them and where i build the farm room - once they randomly fly into the room, i'll close the door to trap them to use the light to grow blossom berries; they will be fine for a while, then they will just disappear. Other wild ones i can see, but have not yet 'trapped' in smaller rooms, are just fine and continue to live - is it something about the size of the room that makes them die? There is NO water, and I'm sure they are not trapped within the walls/doors i've built. Help!

Steps to Reproduce
I've experienced this in the last 2 games I've started.
Go to bugs

If the room is too small they will become unhappy and not lay eggs, they die with age and thats that.

Otherwise they should be ok? unless the temperature killed them
