it is not a bug, you should first just check wiki. so they eat 44% but every 4 cycles "If its metabolism is below 100%, it will eat less (or less often) - and thus produce less resources. For example, a wild hatch (metabolism: 25%) will eat its 140 kg only every 4 cycles and thus only produces its 70 kg of coal only every 4 cycles."

I said it ate 44%/cycle instead of 11%/cycle as it should be.
