Temperatures in gas pipe showing one temp when static and a different temp when running

I am using build 211867

I have a thermo regulator loop. I turn off the thermo regulator and the gas and pipes warm up slowly. After 4-5 days game time it is up to -40.  I turn the loop back on and instantly the gas is back to a temp close to what it started at 4-5 days ago (-220 to -180). I haven't analyzed if there is any heat loss at all.

It is the thermo loop on the left side (the one with the hydrogen in it).

Steps to Reproduce
Seems to have been happening in this game on that loop since I built it.

User Feedback

Appears to be a known issue, though I did not find it on the known issues list.

I ran into it yestersay. Pretty awful/great exploit, depending on your nature. Allows you to build infinitely cooling/warming loops of gas/liquid propelled with just a valve. Build a loop of pipe, fill it with a liquid/gas of the temperature you like, connect the ends with an open valve, deconstruct other pipes, make sure there is one section of the pipe empty, and let it run. It will pull the surroundings to the temperature of liquid/gas in the pipe forever.
