I'm not sure if this also applies to the gas thermo sensor, but with the liquid one it turns on before the liquid has fully entered its cell. This can lead to problems with liquid that is not supposed to go past due to being in the spot that the liquid shutoff is. I'm attaching my save so you can see this in action by my hydrogen vent to the upper right of my asteroid (near my steam vent.
Spoiler
Here's where it is.
I noticed this issue when my pipe broke a few seconds after loading my map and letting it run.
Steps to Reproduce
Load my map and head to the area in the spoiler, then let the game run for a while and notice that the liquid temperature sensor is reading from the very edges of its cell (rather than towards its center).
