[Solved] Unable to launch the game

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Steam Fixed

Hello,

I'm playing on linux (can provide all necessary information if necessary).

I succeeded to play today until steam client and the game updated around 5pm (UTC+1).

Now I can't launch the game through steam or directly. It exit directly (without launching) without any exit code.

Here is the output:

Quote

Found path: /home/grego/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/OxygenNotIncluded/OxygenNotIncluded
Mono path[0] = '/home/grego/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/OxygenNotIncluded/OxygenNotIncluded_Data/Managed'
Mono path[1] = '/home/grego/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/OxygenNotIncluded/OxygenNotIncluded_Data/Mono'
Mono config path = '/home/grego/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/OxygenNotIncluded/OxygenNotIncluded_Data/Mono/etc'
Preloaded 'ScreenSelector.so'
Preloaded 'libCSteamworks.so'
Preloaded 'libSimDLL.so'
Preloaded 'libfmod.so'
Preloaded 'libfmodstudio.so'
Preloaded 'libsdkencryptedappticket.so'
Preloaded 'libsteam_api.so'
Unable to preload the following plugins:
    libfmodstudioL.so
Player data archive not found at `/home/grego/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/OxygenNotIncluded/OxygenNotIncluded_Data/data.unity3d`, using local filesystem

Two things looks weird:

- libfmodstudioL.so fails to preload

- data.unity3d file is missing.

I've tried to ensure game integrity with steam client (no effect), then uninstall/reinstall the game (no effect either)

Could you help me to understand that bug?

Player.log

Steps to Reproduce
- launch the game through steam

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Can you please upload the log instead of the console output. It's at ~/.config/unity3d/Klei/Oxygen Not Included/Player.log (please start the game through steam first to get a proper log)

btw the game will not launch directly so ignore what the console is saying.

"Player is already running"

Please make sure no instances of ONI is running and start it through steam again and read the logs to check if it changed and if so upload it.

You were right!

Here are two related processes

Quote

ps aux| grep -i oxy
grego     3819  0.0  0.2  85488 22776 ?        S    Dec16   0:00 /bin/sh /usr/bin/xdg-open http://forums.kleientertainment.com/forum/137-oxygen-not-included-latest-content-update/
grego     3939  0.0  1.0 1126488 87092 ?       Sl   Dec16   0:00 /usr/lib/chromium/chromium --show-component-extension-options --ignore-gpu-blacklist --no-default-browser-check --disable-pings --media-router=0 --enable-remote-extensions http://forums.kleientertainment.com/forum/137-oxygen-not-included-latest-content-update/

I've killed them and now the game can be launched again.

It seems that chromium was launched (but invisible).

Thanks a lot AlexRou

Please make your own report with the full log and system specs, but from the sounds of things your graphics chip is most likely too old.
