Slime conversion/hydrogen bug

Firstly, let me say that this is an amazing game. Probably my current favorite PC game which is saying a lot. To be concise, the issues I have encountered so far are listed below:

+The bio distiller (converts slime to algae) consumes slime but doesn't produce algae. Not sure if it's specific to me but I had all of the requirements for the building and it just emitted contaminated oxygen.

+Hydrogen generator doesn't appear to consume hydrogen at all. I couldn't find a way to rid myself of the hydrogen build up once I started using the electrolyzer. (to produce oxygen via water rather than algae seeing as the slime wouldn't convert)

+Dupes will sometimes be idle when there are tasks assigned. For example, I had some generators assigned for construction and even though they had the construction ability, they would just stand around.

Considering the fact that the game is still in pre-alpha, I completely understand minor bugs. I'm just posting this in hopes that it will help the developers work out some kinks. I have played quite a bit since I purchased it and in the long run, after setting up a water recycling system, electrolyzers, and whatnot, I found that the slime conversion made it almost impossible to continue seeing as the electrolyzers were the only form of oxygen generation. This being the case, it made my colony almost completely consist of hydrogen.

I wish everyone luck with their space colony endeavors. If you have any tips for fixes, please let me know.

If needed, I can provide a screenshot of my setup to help understanding of the issues.

Steps to Reproduce
1) Ran out of algae 2) Placed bio distiller to convert slime to algae 3) Placed electrolyzers to generate oxygen in lieu of algae generators 4)Bio distiller showed that it was consuming slime but said producing "0.0 kg/s" of algae 5) The use of electrolyzers produced a massive buildup of hydrogen 6) To remedy the buildup, I placed multiple hydrogen generators in the buildup (with gas pumps attached). They ran on occasion but every second or so it would say "pump not in gas" when the whole area was clearly ridden with hydrogen. Also, placing the generators didn't seem to get rid of any hydrogen.

To me, bio distiller produces Algae, but only 10kg, and it takes waaaaaay too long for that.

To consume the hydrogen, you need to build an Air Pump where the hydrogen is, and connect the air pipes to the generator.

Check if the task is marked as "Unreachable"

I've had the same issues. Also, the gas pump will be directly in the gas but it won't pump and says it's not in the gas. :/

I put the gas pump directly in the gas (literally my whole upper section of the base was pure hydrogen). I checked for the unreachable issue and they're all fine. The pump and generators were all connected to power and in hydrogen. I think my primary concern would be the bio distiller not working. I may reinstall the game to see if that fixes the issue seeing as there simply isn't enough algae to sustain oxygen production.

I figured out the pump issue ( at least partially). If you place the gas pump right next to the electrolyzer it seems to work significantly better. I'm still a bit confused though because hydrogen is purple and when I hover my mouse over the gas that appears similar to carbon dioxide (though the indicator says "hydrogen", it says hydrogen but when I put an air scrubber in the region, it worked as if it were in a region where carbon dioxide was plentiful.
