Room max size limits

I find that the max room size for a specific room (e.g. med bay, mess hall) to be considered a room is quite small. What was the reasoning behind those numbers?

For example, I have this med bay, which contains a modest 4 med beds, where I had to reduce the height of the top ceiling to make it qualify as a room:

Could you consider increasing the max room size?

Though it would be nice to have the size of the room determined by some other metric, like walkable floor tiles rather than size of room, this is not really a bug.  The feature as explained is working properly.  This sounds more like a suggestion to me.

I think the reasoning is that an extremely large bathroom isn't really "nice" and you can only have so many beds in a room before people start feeling cramped and they want to ensure a certain proportion of medbeds to lavatory and mess table in medbays.
