Resources disappear

I am at cycle 458. I have 35.5t Gold, 19.1t Coal, 3247.2k Plastic. After about 10 seconds Gold, Coal and Plastic all revert to 0. I have attached screenshots.

When I load this saved game I am able to reproduce the issue 100% of the time.

I have tried letting it run for another 10 cycles or so but it does not seem to revert to previous values. I noticed this during this game happening on a few occasions but it always seemed to right itself after 1 or 2 cycles. This time it is not reverting. I have attached my saved game file for your reference.

same thing happened again in subsequent game … Coal dropped to zero for no reason. Unable to play the game while this bug exists.

Hi @wormsnout,

The resources list displays resources that your dupes can currently reach.  From looking at your save file, it looks like (in the case of coal for example), there is only one path out of your base, past an atmo suit checkpoint, and all of the other doors are locked.

None of the suits are currently usable (they are missing oxygen), so none of your dupes can leave the base to reach the coal.

If you supply oxygen to the suits, or open one of the other doors, your dupes will be able to get outside the walls to reach the coal.

If you select a duplicant and click Show Navigation, it will draw you a graph of where they are able to reach which might help track down these kinds of issues when they come up.

you did see my word document with the two screenshots in the same cycle right? how does it go from 30 tonnes to 0 in 1 cycle?

oxygen is not being supplied to the suits because there is some sort of bug - the batteries at the top of screen are not moving at all - they stay at 100% charged all the time.

started a new game … 100 cycles in … same thing happens … resources drop to zero

even if I dig up a copper ore tile it does not change the copper ore value - no atmo suits or checkpoints or anything … attaching save game file.

I can literally mine 1 tile of copper ore, or iron ore, or anything … and the values don't change from 0.

Hi @wormsnout,

Yes I took at look at the screenshots, and the save game. All of your gold it outside the suit checkpoint, so if the dupes can't pass through the suit checkpoint, all of the gold will become unavailable.

Part of the reason your suits don't have oxygen is because the pump connected to them is disabled by automation wires:

The reason the automation wires are disabled is due to the settings on the smart batteries.

It looks like the information displayed on the smart battery info panel, as well as the tooltip are actually wrong right now.  This is definitely a bug and we will fix that for the next update.

Smart batteries will signal Active when they are below the active threshold, and they will switch to Standby when they are charged above the Standby threshold. Since your batteries are fully charged, they are signalling Standby, so the pump is off.

As for your newer save file, I'm not sure what it is you're seeing exactly.  When I dig copper, I see an appropriate amount of copper being displayed in the resources list.

Keep in mind that materials that are ready to be used for a construction job are also not included in the resources list, so if you have placed some buildings for construction, the material needed will be subtracted from the total available.

As dupes carry and deliver the materials needed for construction, the number may also drop temporarily due to the way the game calculates what is available. However this should correct itself once construction is completed.
