Resource Nodes Won't Change Temperature

Hypokrit

Occasionally, resource nodes won't change temperature, despite their environment, such as metal resource nodes from a volcano not cooling and/or liquefiable nodes that won't melt/whose temperature won't rise.

The example included has an Iron metal node on the conveyer rail in the water chamber that remains in the 1000s of degrees, despite the metal nodes before and after it on the rail only being in the 100-200 range.

This example also shows ice nodes in the steam chamber that remain below 0 degrees, despite the steam being anywhere from 200-300 degrees.

I could not show a progression of time to demonstrate that these temperatures remain constant despite how long they are exposed due to file size restrictions.

Steps to Reproduce

I haven't been able to force this issue to reproduce, I've just seen it occasionally occur in several playthroughs. However, I haven't played a single playthrough all the way without the issue presenting at least once.

User Feedback

There are 'Limits of Heat Transfer' that apply to heat transfer calculations. The one that seems at play here is that there is too little mass in the conveyor rail packets to allow heat transfer.

I have had volcano setups that produce such packets that were over 10,000 cycles old.  From my experience, those small packets 'go away.'  I've always assumed they were merged with incoming packets, but I haven't actually looked into it.
