When a dupe goes out of oxygen and starts looking for oxygen they could find it behind exosuit docks. When this happens the dupe grabs a suit and goes to the area with oxygen. Then he will start the recovering breath animation without the animation showing he has the suit on. I dont know if the dupe is breathing air from the suit or from around him.
