Mouse lag causes unintended actions

I often experience slight mouse lag cuasing unintended build actions, seemingly as a result of delayed processing of the mouse button up event, possibly due to game events slowing or halting the simulation. So far the worst case has been during an autosave during pipe construction, resulting in a long diagonal pipe going far off screen, see attached screenshot (I was working on piping the liquid reservoir blueprint in the top left). Since connection of adjacent pipes is instant, it messed up several pipes.

Construct pipes (or any other drag based entity) during an autosave.

Yep, I started another report about the same problem, not realizing it was the same issue until I opened this thread.

Mine goes from Lower left to upper right, like GreenMan 73.

 

Seems to happen at end of (cycle/schedule?), if I am holding down the mouse button and drawing something (wires, tiles, etc).

 

It's happened on multiple separate games on my machine, so I don't think it's tied to any particular instance or seed.

When using the dig tool this issue has already killed dupes and accidentally dug water reservoirs out flooding the whole base.
