Mods that get an update while you are playing cause the game to immediately update.

When you are playing the game, if a mod received an update on steam, the game immediately downloads it and forces an update, without you able to do anything in between. This means your game gets interrupted and you will lose progress to back to your last save.

It's also very annoying to have to deal with an updated mod while you're playing.
