In the GUI the term microgram is abbreviated mcg which is not a correct SI unit. µg, or in case µ is not available ug, is the only accepted abbreviation for microgram outside the medical industry in mainland USA.

Look at the entry for microgram in the wikipedia:

Notice the semicolon (";") between µg and the long explaination for mcg? In English a semicolon means a separation between independent clauses. So it's either µg or (the recommended symbol in the United States when communicating medical information is mcg). Is ONI communicating medical information in the United States? If no, then mcg cannot be used.

This should be basic knowledge to anyone.
