Small amounts of debris come along with a decor penalty.
Large amounts don't. (see pic)
What happened: I emptied a large area (20X20 or more) and made my dupes drop everything on basically 3 tiles.
Additionally: the automated doors at the bottom of my base (see save file) display black boxes when open.
