The thermal conductivity of insulated tiles seems to be mislabled. I've tested it with a number of materials, and the thermal conductivity of the insulated tile is always identical to the conductivity of the base material.
To test if the thermal conductivity is actually functioning as intended, I droppedĀ into a debug save, I placed a box of sandstone tiles and sandstone insulated tiles, filled with molten copper. The normal tiles diffused the heat quickly into the environment, as expected, but the insulated tiles seemed to have zero conductivity at all, or nearly as low as abyssalite.
I'm not certain, but it appears that insulated tiles have both a display error of the conductivity, as well as having incredibly low conductivity in practice. Possibly a second bug?
Build insulated tiles, view tile properties. To test actual conductivity, place incredibly hot material in a box of insulated tiles, observe.
