I was trying to build pipes, I set the priority to 9 and it crashed when they came to build it.

What after the crash? Does it work? Did it crash again? Errors happen. If its a one time-problem, its always hard to impossible to find the source.

if it was one time, I would've continued playing by now w/o a hitch, but yeah as it stands, the game is unplayable for me.

Why is it unplayable? Because it could happen again sometimes? If so, you should refrain from playing video games at all...
