Graphics issue on Ubuntu 20.04 / Radeon Vega

I had ONI running beautifully on Ubuntu 18.04. I updated my OS to Ubuntu 20.04, and now the graphics appear scrambled. EDIT: I also tried updating the graphics drivers from https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-amdgpu-unified-linux-20-20.

I have attached screenshots and, in the logs, below, the output of lshw.

Steps to Reproduce

Graphics are glitched at the opening screen. No need to go through steps.

User Feedback

Hi,
The notes on the driver link you provided don't show a 3200u as a supported model on the list for that specific driver.

Reverting to the default driver form or presentation of amdgpu would be step 1.

Apparently, there has been some regression to a buggy state for this line of cpu's with latest kernel and so on...
Some google fu (searched: "amdgpu 3200u") reveals this among some other notable results https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/2814

This applies to arch linux, however, some useful information may be gleaned from this. I'd advise to thread carefully though.

Hope this helps.

Edit: found a more recent post, might as well... https://community.amd.com/thread/252724

That was very helpful! I can confirm that adding

AMD_DEBUG=nodmacopyimage

to /etc/environment fixes the problem on Ubuntu 20.04.

The above fix didn't resolve my issue. For now I have tossed in an nvidia card but to help with debugging see my outputs below.

I am having the same issue and even with AMD_DEBUG=nodmacopyimage the issue is present. I have tried everything that I was capable of doing. I am looking for the instructions on how to use the kernel parameter amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0 but that isn't something I have done before.This issue seems to show only in browser windows while video or image content is present on the screen. I thought I had fixed it with the nodmacopyimage in the profile but today the issue came back. The output from my amdgpu_firmware_info is:
