Glass forge: glass deleted

MrAnimaniac
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Closed

The glass produced by the glass forge is not spawned after cooling down, I can see how the liquid glass departs the liquid vent but no glass is spawned. Instead, the amount of water in the pool is reduced by 25 kg.
The forge was constructed using the following mods:
- pliers fixed
- disease expanded
- disease restored
- carousel
- mod updater
- pause on ready to print
Disabling those mods however had no impact on this behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce

Load the appended save game and produce glass. Please note the amount of water before and after the glass hits the water.

User Feedback

If there CO2 over water i guess it just usuall(huh) deleting occuring, since freshly spawned glass cannot displace water, which cannot(for some weird reason) displace CO2 bubble upwards. And this usually occurs with pile of mulitple liquids, when more dense that any in stack is spilled to bottom of that stack

Turns out, your speculation is right. I have several saves of this setup not producing glass and a few of it producing glass: those without CO2 work fine. Water gets ejected out of the water tile and an expected amount of glass remains (insulation tiles are only one tile high at the side). If there is CO2, no water gets ejected - agreeing with your claim that water is not able to push CO2 upwards. The amount of water in the tile however gets reduced by the mass of the produced glass: 25 kg.

If you start for example with 6 kg water, this water gets deleted by the glass and you and up with 19 kg of glass!

Thanks again for your reply. I still think this is a weird bug but at least I know what to do. :)

Glad you figured it out. This is a limitation with how displacement works in the game.
