Gas vent ignores pressure limit when almost flooded

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

Pour a little liquid over gas vent, make sure it is not flooded, and it will keep releasing gas without any pressure limit.

That makes pressure limit mean nothing,as well as high pressure gas vent, cause normal gas vent could do  all the job with the help of a little liquid.

If this case has anything to do with some Unchangable Basic Game Simulation Rules, making gas vent stop working with any amount of liquid over it will do.

Steps to Reproduce
Pour a little liquid over gas vent, make sure it is not flooded

User Feedback

Thats a know issue, but there will be most likely no fix for it. The reason is, the engine can either have liquid OR gas in one tile. Yes it looks like a bit of liquid on the floor gets mixed with gas above it, but it is not.

So, the vent is not yet flooded, but also there is no gas pressure for the game. So it keeps on pumping.

But with the new preview (going live in a few days i guess) vents have automation ports now. You can put a pressure sensor in your room, link it directly to the vent, and everything´s fine.

Your suggestion making vents block with any amount of liquid may not work.  The problem is, there is always liquid somewhere. It happens all the time. And the flooding mechanic is global. So everything would stop working all the time, screaming "flooding".

I dont think this issue will be resolved any time soon, if ever at all.

same with 2 types of gas. If u close 5k hydrogen in a tile (top of the room) within a room which full with 90kg co2 and u pump any other gas than hydrogen the vent will work.
