Game save are corrupt or read only

Steps to Reproduce
booted game, recieved this message about save files read only. unmarked read only under folder properties in windows. still issue. same error when i try to start a new game. the /\ are different in the save location from the image.

Do you have a backup software running on your documents folder? If yes try turning it off.

Also try deleting the entire Documents/Klei/ folder

The problem was my firewall, bitdefender. it blocked application access in the "Safe files" Module. possibly after an update of either bitdefender or ONI. unsure. was working on the 6th of Aug 17. hope this helps others

Thank you Nosa, this was really helpful! I'm fairly sure that it is an update to ONI, because I had safe files previously turned on and ONI still worked.
