Game crashes unpredictably with no crash log

While building a SPOM, the game always crashes before of the end of the cycle, leaving no logging or trace of any kind. I didn't manage to ever get past cycle 586 yet. I've had it crash 6 time in a row, both unpausing and letting the game do its thing, and not unpausing, just planning buildings. This colony always had crash problems, at least one per hour of game time, but 90% of the times it didn't let me send a crash report, it just crashed to desktop. Now though it's crashing extremely frequently, so much so I can't play the game.

Steps to Reproduce

Either unpause the game and let it run until next cycle, or try placing down buildings and selecting different materials for them, although I've had it crash without me doing anything, while the game was paused. I think the crash may even be triggered by hovering the mouse around without clicking at all20241128113106_1.jpg.0ff1a9295287eaf7f45802270bc9a6d7.jpg

User Feedback

Does the game crash on other colonies as well? I may have a similar intermittent crash issue. I thought it was limited to one colony, but turns out it is any colony. Anecdotally, the less advanced colonies took longer to crash, but I am not 100% sure about that. Mine will crash even if I just start the colony, load it up, then pause it and walk away.

Do you have Frosty Planet Pack or Spaced Out?

I loaded the colony and let it run for over 10 cycles without a crash.

The game might have generated a SimDLL_CRASH_<something>.dmp file, it would be located in the same directory as the game's exe. Right click the game in Steam -> Manage -> Browse local files. If it exists could you please attach it?

@kalinoAltes Could you attach your Player.log?

@LordMatt The blob is unfortunately blank. Could you attach your Player.log?

Note that these reports might all be unrelated, it's difficult to say without more info.

I have a few .dmp files, but I think these are related to a NRE in PathProber.UpdateProbe, which was still a problem but way less frequent than the other straight CTDs I got in droves. In fact, the crashes I posted about above did not throw a "oops-a-daisy, we're sorry" screen, so it's probably not a sim crash. I'll try updating the BIOS, I'll keep you posted.
