Game crashes on opening in Steam (OSX 10.12.6)

Thunderdusk
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: OSX Fixed

ONI quits unexpectedly after trying to launch through Steam. Was running fine before the update.

Have successfully verified files and also restarted.

Checked the log report to Apple - and it says the following:

Application Specific Information:
application requires at least OS X version 10.13.0 (10.13.0), but is being run on 10.12.6 ( 10.12.6/16G29), and so is exiting.
abort() called

Does 'The Big Merge' update now make 10.13 required to play the game? (I can't upgrade for various reasons!)

Steps to Reproduce

Press 'Play' on steam running Mac OSX 10.12.6

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

This is extremely unfortunate but the version of Unity we upgraded to no longer supports Sierra (10.12). I'm really sorry about that!

We are planning to make a Steam branch available with the most recent Sierra compatible Spaced Out build for those unable to upgrade their OS right now. This will be the Mine the Gap update. The current base game will also be made available as a Steam branch before we release the merge down to everyone.

I will let you know when the branch or branches are ready. This will likely be next week.

Got it, and I'm back in! :D

Thanks for being such an awesome set of devs - both in the content you create and in the care for your player base!

@EricKlei

Sorry for reviving this thread... I too am in this boat now after coming back to the game after quite some time. I am unable to play due to the 10.13 requirement for mac users. Is there a way I can get access to that support branch in Steam? (Unfortunately my new account here on the forums prevents me from sending you a direct message.)

Thanks,
