"Duplicants have died" message reports spurious cause of death

Dupe A became incapacitated from heat exhaustion.

Dupe B tried to rescue A but ran out of oxygen on the way and dropped A.

Dupe C tried to rescue A and carried him to the med bay, but apparently A had expired during transport, so C dropped A in front of a medical bed.

The "Duplicants have died" message says:

Lindsay was slain in combat by a fearsome creature.

Funny story: I saved the game shortly before B dropped A. When I load this game, instead of being almost rescued by C, A dies within seconds from suffocation. In other words: loading a save file with an incapped dupe doesn't seem to restore the correct state of this dupe.

 


Steps to Reproduce
I don't know how to reproduce this chain of events.
