Duplicants getting stuck behind nothing in particular

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: OSX Pending

I've had this issue a few times, where things will become "unreachable" for no reason I can see. In this case, unfortunately, the area became unreachable after four duplicants had already gone there, causing them to suffocate to death in a wide empty corridor leading back to the base. That unbuilt ladder had previously had the "unreachable build" marker for some time, it seems to have become reachable for just long enough for these yahoos to go over there and try and build it, leading to their demise. You can see Linday's pathing in the screenshot, it ends mysteriously halfway through that puddle of water. Other incidents of the "unreachable" issue have all seemed to involve liquid as well. Of note is that while they were stuck over there a couple of them started madly glitching through the wall and then back to their original location.

In this screenshot you can also spot the MacOS texture flickering bug.

Steps to Reproduce
I haven't been able to reliably reproduce the issue, as I can't figure out what triggers it other than the presence of liquid, which might be a coincidence.

User Feedback

I count 8 cells underwater in that path. If you refer to the Duplicant trait you'll see that is as far as they will go in water.

Aha! Well, I feel silly. I assumed they would be able to move underwater the same way they do in unbreathable air. I suppose the amount of water on the floor must have fluctuated, allowing them to pass temporarily.

(not sure what you mean by the “duplicant trait”, though - where can I find that information?)
