CTD on lauch after update.

ONI crashes to desktop on launch immediately after the Klei splash screen. This occurs whether running through the steam interface, or directly through the executable. The bug submission screen appears for a split second, long enough to read "A black hole ate my game" and "development build", I'm not sure, but I don't think I should be getting access to dev builds. I am not subscribed to any betas, or mods, I have verified files, and reinstalled, this still occurs.

Looking at the log files, there appear to be a couple missing scripts possibly unrelated.

There are also 3 warnings, also possibly unrelated.

At the bottom, the culprit appears to possibly be a memory leak.

My eye is immediately drawn to "allocatedMemory":71618 not sure what the units are but if it's MB its more than I have XD.

On the other hand it only gets to ~2.7 GB in task manager before crashing.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

We turned on Development Builds during Early Access since they include additional debug information.

Looking at your log the issue is the game can't connect to Steam so it closes itself. When was the last time you were able to launch the game?

Before I updated to the latest build. I'm not 100% certain, but date modifed on my WorldGenDataSave files seems to indicate early Februrary.

Still not sure what the root cause is but I've posted some more troubleshooting steps in this thread.

Hmm, I am running the Beta branch of Steam. Somehow It seems my Steam.cfg was preventing it from updating! Very strange. I cleared those settings out and it let me update. That issue is gone now. Thanks for the help Eric!
