The Critter Feeder element filter is bugged. If you enable the checkmark for a specific animal, close the Critter Feeder window and then reopen it the element filter shows checkmarks next to a random assortment of critters. Also, clicking the 'All' checkbox fails to deselect any checkboxes when used as a toggle.
I have noticed when clicking the checkmarks to disable them that sometimes a second click is required to remove them. This might suggest that checkboxes that appear selected are in fact not.
It would seem this bug has been apparent for a long time. Please fix this irksome issue as it results in domesticated critters not getting the correct food and hence dying of starvation.

1) Click the Critter Feeder.
2) Select 'Hatch' from the element filter.
3) Close the Critter Feeder window.
4) Click the Critter Feeder and observe the random critter selections.
