Confined debuff says nothing about reproduction

I was building a place to store some animals, but I noticed that they didn't have their base reproduction.  The reason for this is that they were Confined.  However, there was no indication that the Confined debuff or the low happiness was the cause of the lack of reproduction.  I feel like there should be a tooltip that says this.
