Can't land on Gassy Moo moon if discovered too late

GeneralSour
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Fixed

I discovered the Gassy Moo moon a little bit after cycle 900. When my rocket got into orbit and I tried to deploy a rover, I got this:

There weren't any valid spots to select as a landing spot for the rover. There were a couple places in the FOW where the rover outline turned white, but clicking to place didn't do anything.

The area where the Moos are was filled with natural gas for about half a cycle before it all disappeared into space.

Latest save file attached.

Steps to Reproduce

My best guess is that this is related to discovering the planetoid too late. I don't have any saves left from before I reached it.

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

I've had it happen on a gassy moo asteroid too. Think it was discovered ~cycle 200-300.

Then today, had it happen on a metal asteroid. Cycle ~150.

@Bossmull There is a 'solution', which is to enable debug, which will temporarily reveal the entire Asteroid. Land your rover/trailblazers, after which you can turn off debug. Once something's landed, the surface gets revealed correctly.

Changed Status to Fixed

This will be fixed in Thursday's update. On existing saves you might need to use the Sandbox reveal tool to reveal the surface.
