A: The door has some sand or regolith blocking its path when closing
or
B: Too many meteors stroke it resulting in the door heating up to its meltdown temp

Steps to Reproduce
On the surface, place down a bunker door and wait till a meteor shower. Then close the door without power. If a meteor strikes and creates regolith, you are on your way of getting steel, and even less than 1/2 the door's cost.
