Also having the same issue.  For me it was when the game was trying to install certain mods.  Specifically "Thermal Tooltips" and "Sweep By Type".  I cannot subscribe to either of these mods without causing the game to crash.  Things were fine a week ago but not anymore so I'm not sure what changed.

For mod related issues, it is best to talk to the mod developer. Sometimes through Steam and sometimes through whatever site the mod developers uses to share files. Perhaps the mod is out of date or there are conflicts with another mod. This forum is to report issues with the base game.
