Bio Distiller not working when near empty

i think i need to run untill it runs out of slime complitle

They changed how converters work where they must have enough mass for the entire cycle up front.
That's 30kg for the algae distillery to start working.
 

My biodistillers don't seem to be producing algae at all.  The readout says it's using slime but always 0.0 on producing algae.  They are getting interrupted with power outages, does that kill the cycle?

NVM, I reloaded an earlier save and redid the biodistillers, and they are working on this run through.
