Atmo suit equiped but not functioning after exiting Command Capsule

  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

This bug appened frequently.

My command capsule has an atmo suit in it, My Pilot is always wearing an atmo suit when going into the command capsule.

My rocket land, I extend the gantry, my pilot duplicant exit the Command Capsule and :

- takes heat damage and is holding breath

- Duplicant has no "unequip atmo suit" or "unequip clothing" button (they all wear warm coat).

- Duplicant may or may not use the Atmo suit checkpoint to unequip the suit. When it appened I once manually asked this duplicant to go back to the atmo suit checkpoint, he equiped a new atmo suit on top of the buggy one. I have found extra atmo suits on the ground near my Virtual Planetarium (I think the buggy atmo suits may drop later when certains conditions are met like using a building or something).

The screenshot and save file are right during the bug.

Aditional info/bug : My atmo suits never dropped durability. They are all at 100%

All DLC owned but Spaced out is not activated.

Steps to Reproduce

Land a rocket and when the duplicant exit the command capsule this bug may appens (maybe 20% - 40% of the time I think).

At least that part is likely intentional.

The default setting for suit durability in base game is 'indestructable'

Also experiencing this bug. A duplicant returning from a space mission will sometimes appear to be wearing a suit, but they are not actually wearing one. I've been losing atmo suits over time with each mission, with currently 11 suits out of 16.

Currently on build U54-647408-VCD, playing base game with frosty planet pack, but not bionic booster pack.

Edit: Appears to happen when a duplicant returns from a space mission after a save load.

Edit 2: Adding more observations: When loading a save where an astronaut is outside of a rocket (i.e. in the colony), they will drop all excess suits that they have equipped via this bug. This occurs if when a duplicant in the bugged state (not wearing a suit, but visually appears to be) equips an atmo suit. If the game was saved while they were wearing a suit, they will keep that suit equipped and drop any extras. If they were not wearing one, they will be loaded with one suit equipped and drop the extras.

I can confirm this is happening after the bionic update.

The atmo-suit sprite shows on the duplicant as it exits the rocket but doesn't show in its equipped items/clothing. This also applies for duplicants that are dropped from the sight-seeing module. As such, they will be exposed to the environment and usually forced to hold their breath.

One must save and load the game right after the duplicant leaves to regain the equipped suit. I suspect that suits will be overwritten and "disappear" from the game if the duplicant gets a chance to equip another suit without this step.

Rocketry is being hobbled by this mishap.

I can also provide an older base game save file with a rocket about to land for testing purposes.

I have this bug as well…
I lost two atmo suits already, and it is consuming my resources to continue to create new ones…

As it turns out, I do not need to create new atmo suits.
They game eventually remembers that they are wearing the suit, and will make the dupe return the suit back to the atmo suit dock when the oxygen runs out.
