A shove vole egg buried after being layed stop incubating

Trying to build a phophorite farm with wild mealwood, I've put a shove vole with a critter feeder.

At one point, this critter layed an egg on a portion of ground without dirt, and 4 days later ... buried it with dirt.

From this moment, the egg stopped incubating. But shoudn't it continue to incubate, since the shove vole is an underground critter ? ;)

Steps to Reproduce
Spawn a shove vole egg, buried it with dirt (any material ?), wait few days in game (not in real life :P), dig the tile : the egg don't have incubated more
