This glitch happens when over 100 dupes (when over 1000 are already dead) are going... going... going... DEAD!!! Instead of the usual spinning star graphics or dupes' hands raising as if calling for help, a portal to another dimension opens up.
Steps to Reproduce
There are two ways to reprodouce this glitch. Step 1a: Kill over 1,000 dupes. The higher, the better. 2a: Summon at least 100 dupes in one tile and let them fall down to just one floor tile below, about 100 tiles down. 3a: Incapacitate them by pressing Ctrl+F8. 4a: As the dupes start dying one by one, around midway a "portal" appears. 5a: Once the dupes are dead, delete them via Sandbox mode. Use a cross shape and hover above the pile of dead dupes, because hovering over the pile itself will cause the game to freeze. At this point, RAM use significantly increases. Step 1b: Summon 400-800 dupes in one tile and let them fall to just one floor tile below, about 100 tiles down. Over 800 dupes will result in the game to really struggle (at 16GB RAM), especially if system RAM is lower. 2b: Incapacitate them via Ctrl+F8 and wait for them to die. 3b: As the dupes start dying one by one, around midway a "portal" appears. 4b: Once the dupes are dead, delete them via Sandbox mode. Use a cross shape and hover above the pile of dead dupes, because hovering over the pile itself will cause the game to freeze. At this point, RAM use significantly increases.
