Sound only comes out of the front L/R speakers, rear L/R and Center are silent. This happens with both ONI and DST.
I will try to explain what I have running:
- Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card
- (via Creative Audio Control Panel) Dolby Digital Live Output (via optical cable), X-Fi CMSS 3D in Stereo Surround Mode- Upmixing: On
- Pioneer amp in Dolby mode to receive and decode the digital audio
- 5.1 Speaker system
Basically what Creative have going on is any stereo audio sent to the Default Windows Sound Output Device (Speakers) is supposed to be upmixed and sent out digitally to the amp. This works great in most cases, where the audio source is Stereo PCM, though I believe if there are more than 2 channels in the source audio, Creative will just pass it through without modification. This brings me to my problems with ONI and DST audio..
When I open ONI or DST, audio only comes out of the front 2 speakers, with the center 2 rears silent. I actually can't explain why that is.
Sorry to put this in the form of a bug report.. I realise it's kinda supporting a single user's specific hardware, but I have tried looking up info on FMOD and Unity, looking for command line switches or anything I might be able to use to get your games to output the audio I need, but I've come up short.
Any chance you could perhaps give me some information/help so that I might be able to fix it myself? I mean ONI has basically zero audio options, but FMOD has the ability to list audio devices and select one, so that options menu functionality would possibly sort me out, but I found some FMOD commands to do the job myself I think, only I don't know how to interact with FMOD via ONI.
The link below had a reply that explained "The best way to change the output device that FMOD uses", and I wanted to query FMOD via ONI.

Failing all of that, are you able to please tell me what format/what is going on with audio output in your games? How am I getting 2 channel audio output instead of 5..?
I'd love to better understand why I have this problem, and if it's supposed to be like this for all surround sound users. Knowing your audio output format details would really help for a start, as I am kinda guessing a bit.
Google Chrome initially had a similar problem until I added --try-supported-channel-layouts to the command line, if that helps or means anything to you. I'd be very happy to learn of some command line options to fix the games in the same way if that might be at all possible.
