Since last update it seems that weighing down pressure plates with some items will make it place the item at the characters position instead of at the pressure plates position. It seems some items will exhibit this behavior and some will not.
Steps to Reproduce
Take an item such as Nightmare Fuel and try to place it on a pressure plate in the hamlet ruins
A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.
