I played Don't Starve (Shipwrecked but also the "standard" Don't Starve) last time four/five weeks ago. Always via Steam with a Mac. Today I couldn't start it because it says the file would be damaged.
I admit that I deleted several files on my Mac in a clean up mania two/three weeks ago with my Cleaner One. Could it be possible that I deleted some needed files (sorry, digital immigrant here)? But that's why I thought deleting everything (Don't Starve and Steam) and installing everything new will fix the problem. It doesn't.
I deleted and installed Steam and the game more than three times now, deleted all of my caches, fixed my security settings on the Mac, have no antivir program (Cleaner One Pro but no antivirus add on) running but it still says that the game can't be opened because the file is damaged. It also says that the date of the download is unknown.
What can I do?
Had Steam open and tried to play (start) Don't Starve. In background WhatsApp, Messages, Mail, Spotify, Notes and Chrome were open.
