If you befriend a ballphin and try to mine coral with it, the ballphin will do it only when its close to its ballphin pod/herd. If you bring the ballphin away from the ballphin herd it will struggle to mine coral and instead continuously swim back to its herd. This has even happened when I have brought the entire herd to mine coral, they all want to return to the herd position sometimes.
Steps to Reproduce
Befriend a ballphin with fish and try to let it mine coral away from its herd, note it struggles with it and instead wants to return home.
