If you are Wormwood, you are unable to eat Glommer Goop or rotten foods.

Instead Wormwood can only self-fertilize with them, making it so you can't eat the Glommer Goop to rapidly drain your sanity.

Wormwood really needs a tune-up in the controls department. Wormwood has a few unique commands, but they cannibalize the controls for common actions and reassign the common actions to new buttons, if at all, instead of simply having the unique actions occupy the less common buttons. I main a (PS4) controller, so I don't know how different it is for keyboard/mouse players, but for example, most characters harvest crops with the X button. For Wormwood, X is for checking plant conditions and harvesting is reassigned to Circle. It'd have been simpler and more sensible to just assign checking plant conditions to Circle in the first place.

Seeds and fertilizers are where my biggest gripe is though. Most items are governed by two commands: Use on Environment, such as adding fuel to a fire, or putting an item in a chest (left directional button), and Use on Self (right directional button), for eating food, applying healing items, putting on equipment, etc. Seeds and fertilizers switch it up, whether using Wormwood or not. Let's use Rot as an example. You want to fertilize some soil with it, or maybe you just need a brief cooking fire, or a few second of warmth. Do you use "Use on Environment" or "Use on Self"? As logic dictates, you use the button to apply the rot to the environment... AND INTO YOUR FACE IT GOES. Unless you're Wormwood, in which case you self-fertilize with it. How about your cute critter there making all that racket, maybe you should shut it up with a meager seed? Oops, something else was your target, so 'Give' was replaced by 'Eat'. You eat the tiny scrap of food in front of your starving companion. How could you, you monster? "It wasn't my fault! Klei #&@%ed up the controls!" I could go on, but I think it's clear enough that this is definitely an area where the game could be improved.
