I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I fenced my Ornery Beefalo in with a whopping 8 Salt Licks and when I came back after a brief absence, it's Domestication had gone from 100% to 99.6% (used the Insight mod to check the stats).
Steps to Reproduce
1. Leave Beefalo with a bunch a bunch of salt licks.
2. Go far enough for it to unload and wait a day or two.
3. Come back to find the salt licks have been barely used and the beefalo has lost domestication.
