Tamed beef going into heat

Few salt licks... checked!
Beef bell... checked!
Skin on beef... checked!

While with some things I cannot be sure (because of skin I could not tell how he looked), but after update my beef started to "go heat" in what I assume "tamed state" (indicated by ornery damage to enemies). After little ride or fight he was usually going back to normal. When I finally could remove skin (without removing bell bond) I could say he had tamed look.

I have mods but none of them should affect beefs. If I properly remember bell and licks should keep him tamed. Am I missing something?
