Splumonkeys have melee attack animation that does no damage

I'm not exactly sure, if this is a bug or a weird feature, but splumonkeys (normal variant) have a melee attack they rarely use on players. They approach the player and show the same bite animation their shadow counterpart has, yet do no damage.

Steps to Reproduce

Go into a cave/ splumonkey biome when the nightmare phase is low (so the monkeys are normal), attack and kill several of them. Instead of throwing manure, some may attempt to bite the player, but do no damage.
