I'm not sure if it's a bug but, the saplings in my world are all gone.

What do you mean they're "all gone"? Were you playing a world where they existed and then suddenly they didn't? Or did you start a new world and there were none at world generation? If the latter, that's intended behavior; by default, certain resources have a chance to be replaced at world gen with different variants. Your world should have twiggy trees instead.

If you don't want it to be possible for the world to generate using a variant resource instead of a traditional one, change your world gen setting "Starting Variety" to Classic.
