prestihatitor bug

not sure what mods are you using, but seeing the video you tried to craft the prestihatitator with the magician top hat instead of a regular hat, at least the magician hat disappears for a second when you click the prestihatitator in the crafting menu, then the game realize that the hat isn't correct and it gives you back the materials

After you mentioned I used the wrong top hat, I went back to try the classic one and this time I was unable to craft the classic top hat! This is getting ridiculous because that world seed apparently is so lucky and I had to abandon it because of some bug Also don't starve wiki listed the same exact problem regarding this problem and this time I posted the proof. here is the video where I can't craft the classic top hat

 

That's not the classic top hat, you are crafting the magician top hat, that's a different item it doesn't matter if you are crafting it with the default skin. You are looking for the Top Hat that you craft on the clothing tab.

I don't know why the game let you do the crafting animation even if you can't or don't have the materials to craft the items, i guess the magician's top hat is trying to use your magician top hat from your inventory to craft it, and again it fails.

welp I think I'll just pass on and accept this world is ruined and had to start a new one
