Portion of map is obscured after uncovering a lot of it

Whenever I explore too much of a map, I start to experience this effect where a (usually important) portion of the map is un-discovered. Entering and leaving the caves fixes it, but it's still a massive inconvenience.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Play on a world for a long time (356 days here)

2. Check map after re-joining

Go to bugs

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

I have the same issue. For me, this started after I hadn't played for ~3 months, and also moved my save file to a new computer - one with Win 11 rather than 10. Only my oldest world (~800days) was affected, all other worlds seem to have their map intact.
Edit to add: both with and without mods this error still shows up
